Today, Amanda Gorman became the youngest known ina Today, Amanda Gorman became the youngest known inaugural poet in US history in addition to being the Youth Poet Laureate. Gorman is a 22 year old Harvard graduate, whose passion for poetry as a liberating form of expression began in childhood, when she suffered from a speech impediment, something which, incidentally, Biden also suffered from. We’ve included an excerpt of ‘The Hill We Climb’ and a section of Gorman performing this moving poem at the presidential inauguration earlier today.

This has always been our goal but it’s taken a while to get there — thanks to self-funding and your donations, we’re now able to offer payment for commissions, starting 1st February!

The Aurelia editorial staff will not be taking any payment, continuing to work voluntarily. 

Closed for pitches for now whilst we move into our new phase. Our fee is starting small, but we’re so excited.
