We are so proud to announce FUTURE HOPE, a series of personal essays by Mancunian and Manchester-based writers published in partnership with Manchester International Festival (MIF).
This very special series of essays will be published in July, with each published piece receiving a fee of £200.
We want your first-person stories of love, loss, nostalgia, lessons learned and everything in-between, balanced with your hopes for the future. The future is whenever you want it to be. It can be your hopes for our city, your life, the world, etc. Our brief is very much open to interpretation because we want you to have as much creative freedom as possible, and in usual Aurelia style, stay true to your innermost thoughts and feelings.
The deadline is Friday 2nd July at midnight. This submission call is for marginalised genders: women, non-binary people and trans men. You do not have to be a published writer to submit. We only ask that you are Mancunian, or you’re living in Manchester. We love our city, and it’s time for everybody else to fall in love with it, too.
Please send a draft to submissions@aureliamagazine.com with the subject line ‘FUTURE HOPE’ and your proposed title. In the body of your email please include some information about yourself and social media links. Max word count for first drafts is 1,000 words.
Thank you and good luck!
